EMR Matrix Data Collection

Please post in this thread with data for inclusion in the EMR Matrix.

Feel free to suggest new columns and submit info on features and prices of different EMR packages.

Thanks,

Chris

Re: EMR Matrix Data Collection

I think this is a good resource:
http://www.emrupdate.com/resources/p...mparisons.aspx
You'll definitely want to get permission before using it. I think they probably wouldn't mind you using the list of EMR, but the data they collected they probably won't want you to just replicate(at least without some significant acknowledgement). Who knows, just be careful with their data.

I think it should have some more columns like EMR Only vs. PMS(integrated or not). Also, some might have a hosted option and a non hosted option. What about years in business and other things like that. How about defining a feature set? It gets pretty overwhelming when you think about all the layers.

Re: EMR Matrix Data Collection

Hi John, good ideas. I'm trying to research which features are common to most EMRs. I could put up every feature mentioned by each company but it gets a bit much. Features I've got at the moment include:

Hosted | Non-Hosted | Transcription | Wireless | E-Prescribing | Coding and Billing | Lab Orders | Lab Results | PMS

I'll have a look at the EMRupdate data. Do you know who I should contact to ask permission to use the info?

Chris

Re: EMR Matrix Data Collection

You should ask the CEO(I think that's his title) of DoctorsPartners. He is managing the matrix right now.

Re: EMR Matrix Data Collection

Hi mdstjohn, welcome to the site. I'll have some data up tonight. If you could post up here any data you've collected yourself, I'll be able to include it in the matrix for others to use.

Cheers, Chris.

Re: EMR Matrix Data Collection

I had a provider approach me today asking for help in selecting an EMR. I guess I better turn it up a notch and decide which EMR's are worth suggesting. I think he's going about it wrong because he really doesn't know how he likes to practice and how he likes to document, but he feels he needs to get an EMR asap. Really I think he's more worried about the billing related to EMR. We'll see how that goes. It's hard for me to work with small practices. They have a small amount of money and expect top quality for the small amount they pay you.

Time to start evaluating EMR's. So many EMR choices and so little time.
