Low cost simple EMR

Hi everyone. I have a simple low cost alternative to all of these expensive EMRs. For most specialists, the current crop of EMRs are way to complex and expensive for our needs. What we need is a simple way of creating and filing electronic pt charts. I have ben experimenting with various programs and hav ended up settling with Microsoft OneNote. With the 2007 version, it links with Outlook and that's pretty much all you need.

OneNote becomes the filing system. Outlook is the Claednar and Contact program. You just set upa simple home wireless LAN and that's it! Anyone out there tried anything like this? I would be interested to know.

I like the idea, but have you also built in enough security. I assume you're a small doctor's office and so you don't have to worry about multiple users accessing it? I know one person who did something similar to what you're talking about with Word templates and a free MS database, but he actually did some pretty robust things to ensure that it could be shared was secured and reliable.

I'd love to hear how this is going if you decided to do it.
