Dual Pointer Mouse

Ever felt the need to have an extra mouse pointer on the screen? Neither have I but now you can get a mouse that allows you to control 2 seperate pointers on the screen at one time.

Re: Dual Pointer Mouse

Does that mean that soon you'll be able to use both hands on 2 separate mice? Then you don't even need to switch. You can control both at the same time. Can you imagine what it's going to be like in 5 years?

Re: Dual Pointer Mouse

That sounds like a pretty good idea - has anyone ever tried plugging in two mice and seeing if you get two seperate cursors?

Of course, in 5 years time we won't be even needing one mouse - http://www.newscientist.com/channel/...ch/dn8826.html

Re: Dual Pointer Mouse

Actually I've had 2 mice plugged in at the same time(one USB and one ps2). They both just control the same cursor. It is really a fun thing when someone doesn't know there is a second mouse and they freak out because the cursor keeps moving.

I'm afraid this would have to be an enhancement by Microsoft.

I always new that there had to be a way to tap into the brain to get things done. I'd always applied it to wanting to change the TV channel. I should be able to just change it by thinking. Looks like we're getting closer. I think this type of technology might get some people in trouble. They might not want their thoughts typing automatically.

Re: Dual Pointer Mouse

OK - call me a geek but I've found an application that lets you use two mice with seperate cursors at the same time.

http://cpnmouse.sourceforge.net/

Not sure about a thought controlled TV controller - it was bad enough when we were kids fighting over a physical remote - the channel fights caused by thought controlled channel flicking could end up inducing fits...

Re: Dual Pointer Mouse

Looks like this dual mice is meant for application developers. I think it might be fun for doing desktop support with dual monitors. Or just to mess with people. Might be a fun joke.

Thought controlled TV remote would be great and actually reduce fighting amongst kids. You'd just have it programmed with a proximity security device that when I walk in the room it only listens to me and ignores the thoughts of the children. The idea is also good because then I wouldn't have to worry about my 1.5 year old changing the channels on me either. Now I'm not sure what would happen when my wife walked in the room;-)

Question Re: Dual Pointer Mouse

Everytime I try to install the PS/2 cpnmouse.inf driver, right after I click the CONTINUE ANYWAY from the Hardware Installion prompt I get the following:

[The file 'copnmouse.sys' on CPN Group, University of Aarhus Installation Disk #1 (Mouse) is needed.

Type the path where the file is located, and then click OK]

I've created a folder directory in C:\Program Files\CPN Tools\Mouse driver

Yet I am have problems!

What should I do with this "cpnmouse-driver-1.0.1" driver issue and where do I put the "cpnmouse-api-0.9.3" file?

Re: Dual Pointer Mouse

Hi
I don’t have so much idea regarding this subject. Just I suggest you to take steps accordingly.
