Smartphone/PDA for electronic prescribing/other medical use

Hello,

My name is Dwight Michael. I am a family physician with a 5 physician group in Gettysburg, Pa.
I have electronically prescribed for 5 years with ePhysician, then Carepoint, and now SigmaPoint. I have been pleased with their product and over the last 3 years have used a Palm Tungsten C to write scripts.
In central Pennsylvania, we now have an eHealth Initiative from Highmark Blueshield which offers $7,000/physician or 75% of the cost up to $7,000 per physician which ever is lower, toward purchasing and implementing an EMR with electronic Rx capability or toward purchasing/implementing an electronic Rx program which has the capability of moving into an EMR with electronic Rx.
They have just placed the additional stipulation of requiring CCHIT certification.
My dilemma is that SigmaPoint does not have an EMR associated with it and the EMR that I am using, Amazing Charts, will not become CCHIT certified because of the cost of doing so. Therefore, if we want to meet the criteria for funding of our eRX/EMR project we need to change our systems.

Allscripts eRx seems to be the leading candidate for us at this point but their software is written only for Mobile PC technology.

MY QUESTION: Is anybody using Allscripts and do they have knowledge as to what the specifications are for PDAs/Smartphones. I just purchased a Motorola Q on a trial basis and much to my chagrin, when I tried to download SigmaPoint, ePocrates, or MerckMedicus onto the Motorola Q(a very nice smartphone), in each case it stated that the program was not written for the device and therefore the download failed.

Thank you in advance for your feedback.
I have had a good deal of experience with the use of the Tungsten C and the programs I've mentioned. If anyone has ?s regarding these programs or the device, I would be happy to provide feedback.

Dwight
