certification of medical software used for diagnosis

Actually my question is quite completly described in the title of this thread. I'm interested in the question of medical diagnosis software certification, but didn't find a lot of information.

Do you have an idea of the certification required or recommended in UE and/or worldwide ?

I think there is something called a HON Code, but I'm not sure how international it is. But, it is used to promote/certify a Web site as authoritative medical information.
