Sahara Tablet I440D

If you haven't seen this one yet, be sure to take a look. It has a hardware switch and you can go back and forth between touch and digitizer. Very nice unit and I'll give a link here to my blog where there are a few items about the units from Tablet Kiosk. They also make a great UMPC too. I know I don't get over here often enough as the blog keeps me going these days as well.

Re: Sahara Tablet I440D

Just a short update on the new I440D coming out...core 2 Duo processors and has an outdoor visible screen included in the price. If you happen to watch CSI-NY, you will see the unit used every week.

Also, coming soon is a nice flush battery unit that gives 10 hours of battery life, so coupled with the battery on the tablet you can have up to 14 hours of time. Battery due out in 30-45 days.

Picture and video at the blog from the HIMMS conference. It does a good job with the built in microphones for dictation in a reasonably quiet area. Even with the battery, you are still less than 5 lbs all together. The picture here is the tablet with the unit attached.

Re: Sahara Tablet I440D

I've heard good things about Sahara Tablet. I like the idea of it being about to take dictation, but am skeptical about it having to be a quiet area.

You can always use an external plug in microphone too. It's nice to have the option of a headset or no headset. New model coming soon with a clip on 10 hour battery that will give you up to 13-14 hours of battery life. Was received well at HIMMS. You might want to take a look!
