PDA Cases

Do you use a case for your PDA? I have never really bothered much with PDA cases as I always found they added unneccessary bulk, especially as I usually keep my PDA in my pocket.

Anyway, I'm thinking of getting a PDA case now for my M5000 - the main reason is so I can clip it to my belt so I don't have it weighing down my pockets.

Anyone recommend a good PDA case?

Cheers,

Chris

Re: PDA Cases

I've used an aluminium case on my 4150 IPAQ for a couple of years now. Branded versions available from proporta.com but I bought an unbranded version from an ebay retailer.

There is a thin skin of neoprene bonded to the case which acts to cushion the device from direc blows.
I've been on some hairy assignments and been thankful that my device has an extra layer of protection. The hard case I have works well to protect against crush damage. Case gets a bit scuffed and dented but better that than the PDA. Occasional falls deform the case so that it doesn't quite close properly but this is easily rectified with judicious use of force.

Well worth the 10GBP or so I paid in saving damage to screens.

Haven't seen anything specifically for the SPV5000 but will keep a look out.

Re: PDA Cases

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to stick to case-less for the time being though. I don't take my M5000 out that much any more so I'm not worrying about weighing down my pockets. When I take it out I usually keep it in my bag and have my other phone in my pocket for phone calls.
