Angry Hp1710 memory space

HELP.

Im trying to install Tom Tom 5 on my HP1710 and keep getting the message not enough memory space on sd card even tho its blank. I have done this before but cant remember how to do it again. I know it involved goin to 'RUN' and typing in % something and it worked last time. anybody help me??

Do you have a memory card reader? Can you try installing the software via the card reader rather than directly onto the device?

No, idont have one. I have remembered what it was now you had to type, %temp%, but now cant remember which file you have to delete. any ideas??

Not sure, %temp% just takes you to your windows temporary directory. You can sometimes interrupt an install process by running programs from the temporary folder but as to which program you need to run to get this working I don't know I'm afraid.

Where did you find the instructions last time?

Just from reading on the web it looks like you can install the software onto your hard drive and then transfer it across to the SD card later - choose 'Advanced' in the installation program. It might be worth trying this method.

What size card are you using? It may be that the card is big enough to hold the actual program but not big enough to hold the temporary installation files and the program. The solution might be to install to your hard disk and copy across or to get a bigger SD card.
