Pocket PCs and Macs

Hi. I was just wondering if anyone had any opinions about using Pocket PCs with Macs and medical software. Is it just not worth the hassle? I am going to be a 3rd year student and will be purchasing a new phone/pda combo sometime very soon. I am really not a fan of the Palm OS or the Treos, and the Pocket PC just seems much more natural for me to use.

I can get a really good deal on the Cingular 8525 and am considering purchasing that for my PDA, but I am just hesitant as to whether or not it will even be compatible.

I know that I will need to purchase a 3rd party synching software such as the Missing Sync (www.markspace.com), but I wasn't sure if this is enough to enable me to download medical software onto my Mac and then synch it to the PDA. Can I use Parellels to do it? I looked at the ePocrates software and they don't even have a Pocket PC version for Macs version available.

Any help or opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks
