Hi.. I’m looking for some help, because in a mess trying to find a not expensive GPS solution. Pleassseee I need some good advises…
I have an IPAQ rz 1710 that I bought I think 2 years ago with 1 GB sd card. I don’t use it and when I was looking for a GPS I saw that exactly rz1710 could be working as a GPS.
So now, and after making some searches I don’t know how to decide between 3 ways of making It as a GPS.
1. I saw a website from Gomadic:

The solution that seems better it’s the 3rd one. Because I think it’s the only 20 channels receiver from those 3.
BUT..on my researches I’ve found on several forums problems with all of those 3 solutions. So I really don’t know what I should do. I don’t wanna regret by buying something which won’t work.
If someone could give me a help on this, I would appreciate a LOT.
Like I said, the 3rd solution seems to be what I want (Haicom HI-701 GPS), but I’m saying that just because of the 20 Channels receiver and because it looks nicer to me, comparing to the other 2. I read also that it has Bluetooth, but I’m really a newbie on this things and I don’t know what the purpose on the Bluetooth is once the IPAQ rz 1710 doesn’t work with Bluetooth.
I would like to ask also if someone can advise me about which software should I use, considering that I will need to travel in Europe, specially in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, .(mainly this countries).
I think most of problems that I’ve read about those 3 solutions were connected also to the software used to work on the rz 1710, so can you also tell me which software would be the best on it and would work without problems on my rz 1710 (I’ve got 1 GB SD card) ?
