Future of Palm?

I\'d be interested to hear what people think is the future of the Palm OS now that they\'ve sold off Palmsource: http://www.dmeurope.com/default.asp?ArticleID=10096

There\'s also been rumours that Treos may be released that run the Windows Smartphone OS.

Is this the end of the Palm OS as we know it or do you think this new company will continue to release new versions of the OS?

Chris

Re:Future of Palm?

I started of with a Palm M100. I used this with great success for 3 years. Following this I decided to \"upgrade\" to a pocket pc. It was a huge disaster. The Palm OS is much easier to use, and if you have limited time to enter information nothing can beat the palm. (like during a ward round)

As housemen we used our Palms to beam pt information hence and forth after on calls. Collegues who were completely computer phobic used Palm with great ease after just 10 minutes!

After 1 year of 3 different pocket pc\'s (I guess I am just a heave duty user...) I decided to go back to palm. Since then I have been very happy with my Tungsten T3. I am very impressed with the durability of this pda as it is working 15 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I sincerely hope that palm will survive. In my opinion its much better than pocket pc\'s and it will definitely decrease my quality of life if I have to go back to those miserable, difficult to learn, hard to operate, easy to crash, expensive to maintain bloody pocket pc\'s.
