Re:HP Ipaq rz 1710 v TomTom 5

I did this not so long ago. It\'s slightly complex. You need to be on the internet. The activation code is either on a credit card or on a samllish leaflet, having typed it in, your Ipaq\'s code then appears on the iPAQ which you have to type in the website and then the website gives you a code to type in the iPAQ. Then it works! This is from memory so I may have got the order wrong - but I still have my credit card with the activation code on

Re:HP Ipaq rz 1710 v TomTom 5

For me - it was a variation of the above guests idea

Went into TomTom - selected to change GPS in preferences, then chose NMEA GPS device - set the baud rate to 19200 and select ok Then finally select COM1 - done... - the crade will not show a blue light for GPS activity but TomTom should show \" no route planned \" which means its working!!!

Re:HP Ipaq rz 1710 v TomTom 5

I\'m trying to upgrade my Navigator 4.400 version to 5.** but am having difficulties sourcing the correct and most efficient & economical (both in storage space and £s) method. Any ideas ... PLEASE.

I also \"lose\" satellites when in my wife\'s Citreon; in my Honda I do not have much trouble at all. I read somewhere the reflective layers in the windscreen can have an effect. not sure about the solution therefore. Put the gps unit outside???

i used the same software which came with the ipaq rz1710 viamechaline work great but then got TOm TOM with cameras and found it will not work with the Ipaq navigation system which come with the ipaq been tring 2 days and finally i got it.
if anyoff yous have same problem then this is wat u do goto GPs settings and chose OTHER NMEA GPS and boud rate 19200 and then try it you will see it works straight away but no light on navigation system.
