NEW YORK, April 7, 2008 — SynaMed, LLC, an award-winning leader in healthcare technology, is proud to announce the launch of its free online Personal Health Record available to all patients.
For almost a decade, SynaMed has been providing Electronic Medical Records and Practice Management Systems to physicians across America. SynaMed’s new feature will allow patients to take control of their own healthcare, prevent medical errors, and potentially save thousands of lives, all at no cost, according to Holly DeMuro, SynaMed’s Director of Operations.
So, how to provide these valuable services at no cost?
“Through the use of advertising,” answered DeMuro. “In return for accepting ads on the site, doctors and patients can take advantage of all our system has to offer.”
“SynaMed simplifies record keeping so that patients do not have to rely on memory. A personal health record can also provide lifesaving medical information when a patient is not able to speak for themselves,” DeMuro said. SynaMed’s Personal Health Record system uses a Web browser-based Application Service Provider (ASP) model, which allows patients access anytime, from anywhere with Internet connection.
Patients using SynaMed’s free personal health record will be able to record all of their medical history, doctor’s visits, check insurance coverage for medications, and receive health maintenance reminders about wellness issues and checkups. “Going forward, SynaMed will be expanding the Personal Health Record to include overall health information such as mood, weight, diet, and exercise trackers. This feature will be the first complete online wellness center,” DeMuro said.
In addition to a state of the art PHR, SynaMed offers a free fully-integrated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Practice Management System (PMS) for free to medical practitioners.
