Re: TabletKiosk EO UMPC Review

I've been told by a friend that is beta testing one of these babies that it looks like this could work quite well with an EMR program. She's still working on testing, but it looks promising. I just really like the touch screen idea. I only hope that Windows doesn't take over the O/S and make it so that it is overwhelmed with MSN Internet, MSN Email, MSN Groups, MSN Media Player and all that other crap which the business user wouldn't want(and the home user shouldn't either).

Re: TabletKiosk EO UMPC Review

I think there a program that comes with the UMPC that you can run to get access to a few UMPC specific features but apart from that it runs the standard Windows XP Tablet Edition. On the video he shuts down the interface and it has a normal Windows XP screen sitting in the background.

Great review.
Wish I could see OneNote run on the thing though.

Re: TabletKiosk EO UMPC Review

Hello, this is my first post here. I found the site from a link on EMR Update. I have used One Note on the proto type and it works well. Nothing out of the ordinary other than scrolling.

I have also posted some pictures of the Sahara tablet with the EO on my site if you want to take a look.

http://www.ducknet.net/UMPCCharting.htm

I ran my EMR without any modifications as it works well now on the Sahara and had no problems charting on the EO UMPC. All worked like it should. The only difference would be the scrolling on the longer screens. The default screen resolution was used with the software. The home page also has some screenshots in detail at the bottom.

It is a great unit and I intend on continuing to sell Tablet Kiosk products as a supplement to the EMR Data Base as well. You need good hardware to run the software.

I'll try to remember to visit here again soon! Thanks...

Re: TabletKiosk EO UMPC Review

Hi Barbara, welcome to the site. Looks like UMPC could be a viable alternative to Tablets for EMR users.

Keep posted to Tablet Kiosk for some new developments soon.

Here's a new picture posted on my website. This shows both the EO and the Sahara.

There is a 4 hour extended battery available as well. The white really looks great. Bluetooth works like a charm as well. We sold a couple more this week!

Duckie my dear,
Are you going to get one of these for me that I can try my application on it?

Re: TabletKiosk EO UMPC Review

It very difficult to get a demo unit out, as there are several developers waiting as well as clients.

They look to be a very useful tool though, as I just did a presentation for a hospital looking to incorporate mobile units for the hospitalists and nurses to chart wtih while on the floor.

There is an excellent emualtor available though to use for software development too. It will help with screen size and customizing the view.
